MLMP supports the advancement of Aboriginal people in Saskatchewan in a number of ways. These include:
- Joint ownership with NorSask Forest Products Inc. (owned by Meadow Lake Tribal Council) of Mistik Management Ltd. the woodlands company based in Meadow Lake that provides timber procurement and forestry services to NorSask, MLMP and L & M Wood Products. Mistik is dedicated to the sustainable use and stewardship of 1.9 million hectares of boreal forest in northwestern Saskatchewan. The Meadow Lake Tribal Council is made up of nine First Nations including: Birch Narrows Dene Nation; Buffalo River Dene Nation; Canoe Lake Cree Nation; Clearwater River Dene Nation; English River First Nation; Flying Dust First Nation; Island Lake First Nation; Makwa Sahgaiehcan First Nation; and Waterhen Lake First Nation.
- Paper Excellence has a multiyear contract in place with the Agency Chiefs Tribal Council, through AC Forestry, to procure aspen treelength, softwood sawlogs and harvesting services on the Prince Albert FMA Area. The Agency Chiefs Tribal Council is made up of three First Nations including: Witchekan Lake First Nation; Pelican Lake First Nation; and Big River First Nation.
